This painting has a story to tell. It was originally painted from a photo that my friend Barbara had posted on her Facebook page, that I liked so much that I asked if she would mind if I painted it. A few months later Jane and I were planning our honeymoon in Paris and we booked into the hotel des Arts in Montmartre, only to find that we had accidentally decided to stay in the very same hotel that Barbara had taken the photograph from.
